The Level 3 Access to Higher Education Diploma in Business Management is designed for learners who wish to progress to higher education programmes in Business Management or related subjects. The course equips you with the skills, knowledge, and understanding necessary for entry into higher education programmes. The qualification comprises individual units structured according to the Access to Higher Education unit specification, providing a variety of units that facilitate progression into Business Management degree programmes. The mandatory group of units ensures you gain a solid understanding of themes relevant to Business Management, including key topics in Business Planning and Budgeting, the Role of Marketing in Business, and Digital Technologies in Business. In addition to the graded units, ungraded units are available to support foundational skills for work within the sector and for further academic study.
This qualification aims to:
Reintroduce learners to education, which may not have been completed.
Recognise prior achievements, skills and experience and the particular needs of those returning to learning.
Offer learners a responsive, supportive return to learning at a level appropriate for entry to Higher Education.
Develop the appropriate skills, such as study skills, necessary for learners to succeed in their higher education careers.

Provide opportunities to succeed and progress.
Assessment
As this is a remote learning provision, attendance at the tutorial sessions and the assessment methods require learners to have access to a computer. Achieving this qualification is typically based on assignments linked to each unit, which are issued throughout the course. Some units are graded as Pass, Merit, or Distinction. Learners will understand how to achieve higher grades, when the assignments will be issued, and the submission dates. Completing the assignments will enable the learner to create a portfolio
The course is aimed at learners aged 19 and above. Ideally, learners should have achieved a Level 2 qualification in English, Functional Skills, or an equivalent, and demonstrate competency in numeracy at this level. While no additional formal qualifications are required, LPC will consider prior achievements, including any training that has been successfully completed.
Learners must have a UK address, including the Channel Islands, Isle of Man, or BFO. Please note that you must be based in England to access funding

Credits
The qualification consists of credits, which are linked to individual units. The credit value differs from one unit to another. Upon completing the course, you can attain 60 academic credits; 45 must be obtained at level 3 from graded units that include academic subject content, while the remaining 15 credits can be earned at level 2 or 3 from ungraded units.
Support and Guidance
We recognise that learners are individuals, and we shall provide specific, tailored advice, feedback, and guidance throughout the learning programme to support their progress. This will be delivered during the initial contact in the admissions phase, at induction, through teaching and learning by tutors and assessors, and in targeted support sessions.

Repayments
You will start repaying your loan in April after completing or leaving your course of study.

If you successfully complete the Access programme and a higher education course, Student Finance England will ‘write off’ any outstanding balances owed under the Advanced Learner Loan for the Access to HE course. This means you will not need to repay them.
